This fellowship offers early-to-mid career professionals from across Africa the chance to deepen their research, strengthen leadership skills, and build global networks. Fellows complete a personal research project, contribute to ongoing work at Chatham House, and participate in an intensive Leadership Masterclass Programme featuring thematic sessions, skills workshops, expert briefings, coaching, and mentoring.
Funding includes a monthly stipend to cover living costs in London, relocation support, visa sponsorship, health surcharge, and research-related expenses. Fellows also gain access to Chatham House’s Academy faculty, alumni network, and a five-year membership upon completion.
Eligibility is open to citizens of African countries with a BA or equivalent, research experience, and a clear interest in international affairs. Applicants should be at the early-to-mid stage of their careers in academia, NGOs, business, government, civil society, or media. Full-time commitment in London is required.
💡 Monthly stipend of £2,565 plus relocation and research support for one-year fellowships.
