Across the globe, Indigenous Peoples and local communities safeguard some of the most biodiverse ecosystems, yet they often lack recognition, resources, and support to strengthen their conservation efforts. Climate change, unsustainable livelihoods, and threats to environmental defenders make urgent action essential.
This funding call supports initiatives in biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and climate resilience. Eligible organizations include well-established NGOs and local civil society groups working with Indigenous Peoples and local communities to improve governance, strengthen ICCAs, and advance equitable participation in decision-making. Projects must align with Global Biodiversity Framework Targets and emphasize gender equality, inclusive governance, and protection of environmental human rights defenders.
💡 Grants are available in the USD 30,000–50,000 range, supporting catalytic NGOs and community-based organizations over multi-year projects.
