Coastal ecosystems across the region are facing mounting pressure from climate change, pollution, and declining marine biodiversity. Local communities and conservation authorities are working harder than ever to safeguard these waters, yet many sites still lack the resources needed to manage and protect them effectively.
A major new opportunity is offering support for focused, site-level interventions that strengthen marine conservation management. Organisations can propose actions that enhance governance, ecological monitoring, enforcement, community engagement, and long-term stewardship — all grounded in existing management plans or diagnostic assessments.
This call is open to formally recognised marine authorities and community-led bodies with a mandate to manage coastal and ocean areas. Initiatives that elevate women, youth, and under-represented groups, and demonstrate strong local ownership, will be prioritised.
Selected sites may receive multi-year grants reaching the mid-six-figure range, along with technical mentoring and regional collaboration opportunities.
