Across Africa, iconic cultural and natural sites face mounting pressures from climate change, conflict, and unsustainable practices. Without urgent action, these treasures risk being lost — along with the histories, identities, and livelihoods they sustain.
This opportunity supports projects that strengthen heritage conservation, enhance sustainability, and promote digital innovation to improve accessibility and awareness. Eligible initiatives may also foster entrepreneurship, youth development, and community engagement, ensuring heritage sites remain vibrant and resilient.
Applicants must be government institutions or civil society organizations formally partnered with heritage authorities. Proposals should address conservation challenges identified in official reports and demonstrate clear, measurable outcomes. Preference is given to projects that respond directly to issues raised by international heritage committees.
💡 Support available — catalytic grants covering direct project costs, with implementation scheduled between April 2027 and February 2028.
