Gender‑based violence and femicide remain a devastating crisis, fueled by inequality and harmful social norms. This initiative calls for bold, coordinated action to strengthen institutional responses, advance community prevention, and transform harmful masculinities while promoting survivor‑centered policing and trauma‑informed services.
With a focus on high‑burden communities, especially in Gauteng Province, the program supports partnerships between government, civil society, and local leaders to improve accountability, strengthen referral systems, and expand digital engagement to address technology‑facilitated GBV. Community interventions will mobilize men, boys, youth, and faith leaders to shift entrenched social norms and reduce violence.
Funding ranges from USD 30,000 to USD 50,000 over 10 months, supporting evidence‑based approaches that integrate institutional reform with grassroots prevention.
