Across the Global South, communities are confronting intertwined crises — rainforest degradation, ocean health, climate change, and the struggle for resilient livelihoods. The Pulitzer Center’s Civil Society Microgrants empower grassroots organizations, youth movements, and civic coalitions to transform Pulitzer‑supported journalism into tools for dialogue, learning, and collective action.
Projects may include community engagement campaigns, creative public performances, knowledge‑sharing workshops, or dialogues that bring together journalists, decision‑makers, and affected communities. The emphasis is on innovative approaches rooted in local culture and designed for short‑term impact, while amplifying stories that matter most.
Eligible applicants are grassroots and civil society organizations in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia with experience in civic engagement. Proposals must integrate Pulitzer‑supported reporting and demonstrate clear target audiences.
💡 Grants available between USD 2,000–4,000 for six‑month civic engagement projects.
