Across the Global South, civil society faces mounting digital threats — from shrinking civic space to attacks on digital rights and barriers to civic engagement. These challenges demand urgent responses that protect communities, strengthen democracy, and ensure voices are not silenced.
This programme provides rapid‑response funding to local organisations, groups, and social movements confronting imminent civic space emergencies. Grants support activities that build digital resilience, safeguard participation, and enable civil society to continue its vital work through technology. Proposals must focus on resiliency responses that can be implemented within six months, ensuring timely impact where it is needed most.
Funding is flexible, with support available for individual organisations or joint applications, and priority given to those operating in Official Development Assistance countries.
💡 Grants offer up to $10,000 for single organisations and $20,000 for collaborations.
