Africa’s natural resource wealth holds immense potential — but without strong governance, it risks fueling inequality and conflict rather than sustainable development. This fellowship is designed to cultivate a new generation of leaders who can transform the energy and extractives sector through evidence‑based policy, ethical leadership, and innovative problem‑solving.
Selected participants, known as NextGen Leaders, will engage in policy research, stakeholder engagement, and program development, while receiving mentorship, coaching, and peer learning opportunities. The program emphasizes digital communication skills, analytical capacity, and leadership development to prepare fellows for high‑impact roles in governance and sustainable development.
Benefits include training, continuous mentorship, a collaborative work environment, stipends, meal support, accommodation for international participants, and return travel assistance to Ghana. Fellows will also contribute to research reports, policy briefs, and monitoring and evaluation processes, strengthening Africa’s voice in global resource governance.
Eligibility is open to young Africans under 32 with strong academic backgrounds in economics, engineering, public policy, law, development studies, statistics, or related fields. Applicants must demonstrate analytical ability, leadership potential, and commitment to ensuring Africa’s resources benefit all.
💡 Support available — training, mentorship, stipends, accommodation, and travel assistance for selected fellows.
