Uganda faces urgent health challenges — from outbreaks to surveillance gaps — requiring skilled professionals who can respond in real time. This fellowship offers a unique learning‑through‑service model, where participants spend most of their time in the field, directly supporting national and district health teams, while also receiving structured training in epidemiology and leadership.
Fellows will gain competencies in outbreak investigation, public health surveillance, applied epidemiological studies, and quality improvement projects. They will also strengthen skills in communication, management, and leadership, proving their expertise through a portfolio of projects completed under expert mentorship.
Eligibility requires a Master’s degree in fields such as public health, epidemiology, veterinary health, nutrition, environmental health, or related disciplines. Fellows serve in priority technical units of the Ministry of Health and affiliated institutions, contributing directly to Uganda’s public health resilience.
