This program supports doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers from outside Germany to conduct research stays at leading institutions. With funding periods ranging from short visits to extended projects, participants benefit from monthly scholarships, insurance coverage, travel allowances, and additional support for families, housing, and disability needs. Language preparation and climate‑friendly travel incentives are also included, ensuring a holistic experience.
Applicants must be affiliated with a university or research institution abroad and either be pursuing a doctorate or have completed one within the past four years. Research stays must begin in 2027, with projects coordinated alongside a German supervisor.
