Africa’s food systems face urgent challenges — climate change, yield gaps, and limited market access. Yet climate‑smart crops like sorghum, millet, cassava, and cowpea hold the key to resilience, nutrition, and opportunity. By strengthening seed systems, promoting conservation agriculture, and mobilising private sector demand, this programme aims to transform agriculture into a driver of inclusive growth.
Selected projects will build integrated value chains, expand digital climate advisory services, and connect producers to institutional and commercial markets. With a strong emphasis on youth and women, the initiative supports entrepreneurship in input supply, mechanisation, food processing, packaging, and digital commerce. Mentorship, incubation, and start‑up finance will help young innovators create green jobs and sustainable enterprises across rural and urban communities.
Eligible applicants include NGOs, research institutions, agritech companies, farmer organisations, cooperatives, and youth‑led enterprises. Consortia with complementary expertise are also encouraged to apply, ensuring holistic approaches to climate‑resilient agriculture.
💡 Grants provide up to 23 months of support for integrated crop and enterprise development projects.
