Across sectors, women continue to face workplace violence, harassment, and discrimination that undermine their economic independence and well‑being. Vulnerable groups — including Roma women, rural women, women with disabilities, migrant women, and LGBTIQ+ individuals — are disproportionately exposed, with limited pathways to safety and empowerment.
This research initiative seeks to build a systematic model that identifies high‑risk workplace environments and examines how abuse impacts women’s participation in the labour market. Through advanced econometric modelling, intersectional analysis, and comparative studies, the project will generate evidence to inform economic empowerment programmes, strengthen workplace protections, and align with global human rights and gender equality frameworks.
The findings will support policies that reduce economic dependency, promote social entrepreneurship, and hold employers accountable for safer, more inclusive workplaces. By documenting structural barriers and predictive risk profiles, the study aims to transform how institutions respond to gender‑based violence at work.
