DNA is rewriting the way we understand life on Earth — but without strong pipelines and open standards, much of this knowledge risks being locked away. This call supports projects that build scalable systems to share DNA-derived biodiversity data, strengthen interoperability, and enable FAIR-aligned practices to ensure global reuse and policy relevance.
Selected initiatives will design workflows that integrate sequence-based observations into international infrastructures, improve data quality, and connect with repositories for long-term sustainability. Projects must demonstrate publication of DNA records enriched with metadata, successful update mechanisms, and strategies for ongoing maintenance.
Legal entities such as universities, museums, NGOs, and research institutions managing large biodiversity datasets are eligible to apply. Remote technical guidance will be provided, with contracts beginning in October 2026 and mid-project reviews in early 2027.
💡 Support available — seed funding up to EUR 20,000 per project for scalable biodiversity data pipelines.
